Girlie, I class a recovery run as anything below the recovery ceiling, i.e. < 70%WHR and les than say 7 miles for me but usually about four, five miles max and VERY easy say 65%WHR or less. |

Girlie, well done on the training, you are doing amazingly well. Try some massaging the calves. I get Heidi to feel for the lumps and massage them out; you can bet if your calves are feeling tight then you have some lumps and a massage will do them a power of good. |

thats a good weekly milage girlie well done. I used to have knee probs, got one fixed then the other started playing up. It might be worth you buying something called 'the stick' to massage your calves. I use it a lot on my IT band and calves. It helps get rid of the knots. the only place you can get it from in the UK is runners need (although they were selling them at FLM expo) thestick.net recovery run last night with OH on his bike. He had an annoying habbit of cycling jsut behind me so when I spoke to him he coudl hear me then I had to slow down to talk to him. Eventually I got him cycling alongside me!!! 7.3miles 67% WHR 10.35/mile. Did the same run last week (on my cutback week) HR was slightly higher and pace slightly slower last week so overall about the same. Am pleased at that though because this week has been a hard week for me, 2 doubles so far (although short ones), have run 6 days on the trot and if I complete the 30km on sun I will have broken the 50miles barrier which I have never done before. I must admit that my legs were feeling quite tierd yesterday and feeling ready for a break and this morning I am pleased I dont have to run today. Is that how I should feel or have I overdone it? |

I might get one of those, Hellen I have a large foam roller I use, you have to balance on it though and roll around to massage the sore bits. |

10 miles at easy pace for me today, surprised at what that pace was though - 9:34 at 64%. 20 miles tomorrow. EEEEK. |
