Su2 - you really do not need to map read!
most of the run is on trails / paths etc and some on an old railway line.

It is fairly well signed as i recall, you will love it :-)
didnt you used to run with long eaton? :-)

The route is well marked, although carry instructions or you may have to wait for someone near the end to guide you and nearly get beaten by them.

I seem to recall the toughest climb is quite early (about 2 miles or so) it is a tough one!
finish is great though, downhill through the woods and yes there is cake!!
