This is now my next target, don’t see them doing anything major to the route other than adding in more of the city centre.
On the website they said prices would increase by £10 on Thursday if they still had places available. Was enough of a threat to make me enter last night. 😂

Clare - the main differences between the Half and the Full are a) Altrincham (about halfway) has more support than any area on the half route and b) Carrington (about 20-miles), if included in the 2020 route, is country lanes with no/little support for about 1.5-miles
jda - I only know the differences because I used to live in the area, so little changes to the route could make big differences to access for different local residents.

Thanks! Genuinely looking forward to it already and even though I now have the option to run London, this will remain my target race for next Spring.

Nelly do you think the full will go through Chorlton like the half did on Sunday? I’d like it if it did although the level of moaning by residents was astounding. I marshalled the half and it was a horrible experience!

Jenny - I suspect it might, as I saw a post somewhere before the HM from the organisers that indicated the change was (at least partly) due to requests from emergency services for access around OT. I know that the organisers orginally expected the marathon route to be confirmed by the end of August, but that has seen delay after delay whilst "awaiting input from interested parties"... I wonder whether seeing how problematic the HM route passing through Chorlton was one such consideration?
Given my sister now lives less than 0.25mile from the route through Chorlton, personally, I'd like it to pass through there so my family have a great base to cheer me on from

I've entered this! I'm treading water training wise for a few months, before starting training in earnest. I've booked a hotel too haha.

I’m .25 from the route too (and it’s the home of Chorlton Runners - my club - so you feel like a rock star running through there) so I hope they do.

Hmm, tempted to get in on the act, even though I'm sceptical about my ability or desire to train for a spring marathon. I need to make a decision today though it seems!

Larkim, one of club mates entered the day before (admittedly at vast expense) this year. You can defer your place if you decide you’re not into it after all (or transfer it) up til end January.

Cheers jenny, I was just checking the deferral / transfer options with that in mind! Having poured £45 down the drain at Chester, I'm loathe to risk another £50+, and I'm trying to promise myself that I don't really need to run a fast marathon, but for a change this one fits with school holiday plans etc, so I might be a fool to resist!
