But does it matter? There are many reasons for being vegan - or baking vegan. She may just want to see what can be done with vegan bakery, it's not always a huge moral decision.
If she's vegan herself she might not mind about ingredients as long as she doesn't taste.
I don't see it as a huge issue. I'm not vegetarian or vegan but always think it's a bit rich when those who are* get the third degree on why they're wearing leather shoes (for instance). Do you know what I mean?
* as long as they're not pushing conversion like a mad Jehovah's Witness or something.

Sushi.
She left FB a few days ago having been trolled for being vegan but riding horses.
People are so nasty. We don’t even know why she’s vegan. Plus everyone has the right to set the level at which they are comfortable with what they eat/do.

Yeah, Sushi - that's exactly what I mean.

Sushi.
I was vegetarian for years (15-31) because I didn’t like meat. Always surprised me the presumptions that were made by others though.

That's awful, poor girl. Why is it assumed that just because someone chooses to be vegan that they're automatically some kind of radical? I hope she continues her horseriding and enjoys it.
Pardon me for just harking back to the "spoiler" discussion, I sincerely hope I didn't ruin anyone's enjoyment of this first program by commenting on Tom's departure without Ian's clever SPOILER feature, but I have to say that it sort of goes against the whole concept of a discussion forum if you can't openly discuss the subject at hand and occurrences therein. So, what should we do? Not mention events until a pre-determined time limit has expired (giving everyone chance to catch-up/watch it)? Or should everything post-program be obscured by the SPOILER feature? Frankly - and I really don't mean to upset anyone - if you haven't seen the episode yet, then the best advice is just to avoid the thread until you have. Just my thoughts and again, sorry to anyone who's enjoyment I stomped on.

Maybe there's scope across the FE forums for thread titles which do what they say on the tin - e.g. "GBBO (incl spoilers)", "F1 Fanatics (no spoilers)" etc so that it's clear whether it is customary on a given thread to be either spoilerific or whether there are some house rules in play. e.g. on the F1 thread there's a general acceptance that as F1 isn't broadcast FTA until the evening of the race, those watching live on Sky don't post about the result until after the Ch4 highlights have been run.
Whereas it seems fair enough to me that on this thread (and the Strictly one) that the purpose is to comment "live", so anyone clicking on the thread should expect to see live discussions about what's actually on screen *now*. Of course, as far as Strictly is concerned, there's also the fact that there are reliable websites out there that know the live result before broadcast (because of the Saturday recording schedules) so it wouldn't be right for those spoilers to be posted in plain sight before the show aired. Someone might choose to post the winner with the spoiler tag I suppose (I wouldn't do it) as there's no point in having a spoiler tag if spoilers aren't posted!! My fear would be mis-typing or mis-using the spoiler tags and unintentionally spoiling things for others despite best intention!

And as for vegans / the GBBO contestant, that's disgusting behaviour by FB trolls etc. I presume for *some* vegans, it is a moral principle thing in terms of harm to animals, but for many it will just be a dietary choice.

Every year on the Strikkers thread I post along the lines of 'PLEASE, if you know the results before the Sunday show, don't post 'til after the show is over. Even if it's just to say you know the results but won't say anything.'
I think it's just good manners to stay away. Otherwise I agree with Larks and others - when the show is on or just afterwards - live comments.

If you are going to watch it on catch up and don't want to know who has been booted off, then you avoid the thread until you have, surely?
A bit different to the Strictly scenario where the results show is aired on the Sunday but the results can be found on the web on the Saturday evening (never looked myself). If someone posts that before the Sunday show then they are just being deliberately provocative.
The vegan baker looks promising - in the past, the vegan bakes haven't been that good. Her offerings so far look good and appear to taste good.
Anyway - Guiseppe - Italian, good baker and an engineer - what's not to love?
