I've warmed to Candice over the last few weeks, helped possibly by Andrew being annoying and whiney a couple of times!

I thought some of the hate she was getting online was a bit unfair, like you mentioned Sharkie, she does bring her head down and wrinkles her nose rather than smiling which some have said is her smug face. I had a nosey on her twitter and she comes over really well, some of the photos of the behind the scenes shenanigans show a lovely group having a right laugh over the last few weeks.

I think it is between Candice and Andrew to win, not sure Jane can produce a showstopper clean enough.

I'd like Candice to win, I've really warmed to her too, she's quite funny.

So many of the comments are about the personality that we attribute to the competitor. I too warm to some over others, but I hope the judges choose based on their baking.

Candice has consistently pushed the boat out compared to the others in terms of the baking. Andrew has had great presentation ideas, Jane has (generally) played a little safe. All three are solid in their interpretation of the technicals and any one of them could win this in the final more by luck than good judgement, though arguably Andrew and Candice have the slight edge here in recent weeks (1st, 2nd, 2nd for Andrew, 2nd, 1st, 3rd Candice vs 4th, 5th, 1st for Jane)

On the basis of ranking them from Star Baker performances, Candice has the edge having had it 3 times already, ahead of Andrew (2) then Jane (1 - first week).

On the chart on wikipedia (!), Andrew is shown as having been star baker or second choice 5 times, same for Candice and 3 times for Jane, though Jane has only once (this week) been considered for elimination (Candice twice and Andrew once).

Looking forward to the final!

I have to say though, given this series is the swansong on BBC, it has't been one of the best. Let's see how C4 reinvigorates it.

I was thinking that yesterday too, having caught the 2012 final on telly a couple of nights ago. It might be that after running for 9 (?) years we've exhausted the country's supply of star bakers who want to be on telly.
