Candice/ace has the edge on originality and presentation and Jane on experience and consistency. Agree about tarts too. Thinking about it I don't really want a lemon curd tart at all. I don't care about pies either come to that. Pastry is as dull and stodgy as pasta. Even when they're beautifully cooked and wonderful they're stodgy or greasy or both.

Val was the biggest character, sorry to see her go. None of the others make me want to cheer them on. It was nice to see a technical that I had heard of, rather than something made by trappist monks in Boznia.
