Cheers Synge, yes, in effect it would appear that you can move the adverb of time, manner or place in front of the verb depending on what emphasis is required.
But then that still proves that in German, word order is imperative.
Although I apologise for moving this thread onto foreign grammar.

I had forgotten all about "Time Manner Place" until ptb used the phrase (I missed it in DeeGee's post even though the words were all there!) and yes, it was something we were taught. But I don't think it is as immutable as "verb second idea".

Sorry to prolong this, Columba, but it occurred to me on seeing your avatar that I don’t think German has different words for pigeon and dove - I think they use Taube for both. 😀
