It could be applied to a jigsaw piece in a jigsaw intended for very young children; it fits into the space intended for it, but stands up proud of the jigsaw surface for easy handling.

I would think that if there's a housing development with mostly 3-4 bedroom houses and one with 5, then it will fit in (for its appearance) and stand out (for its size) at once.
