Re. beer ..... it's a tough one isn't it? A lot of beers are very low gluten in any case, just not certified as such. There is a GF beer dealer (if that's the correct term) not far from me in Otley and I always get a good selection from him. Does on-line, I think, recommended.

I have settled on the Bfree wraps, pitta and other flatbreads. I really cannot cope with gf "normal" bread! I also like Heart of Nature super seed loaf.

In the new year, I will start baking my own gf bread again. For me, that is the way forwards.

Not Gluten Free myself but I have raised a Son who was diagnosed Coeliac at 18 months old. He's 19 these days :-)

So I know a fair bit about this stuff

As for beer - my best advice is it's not very good. I've tried a fair few of them and not found any I liked. Stick to Cider.

The trouble with that BF stuff is that it is expensive :-( I have found that Asda/Tesco do reasonable GF bread and I try and stick to that. Mind you, I have say that I do like Scharr bread and would buy it more often if it wasn't for the exorbitant cost. Oh, and also the fact that a loaf lasts me about a day!!

Bigleggy - I have to disagree, some of the GF beers are fine. Or perhaps my taste just isn't tuned-in well enough? :-)

I agree BFree is nice but too expensive for me for every day. Have you tried the Promise bread NE?

I used to bake my own a lot Hanneke but have now found bought ones I like so seldom bother.

I find it expensive too, both the seedy bread and Bfree but it gets used occasionally for packed lunches like tomorrow when I am on the road for 12 hours and daren't risk it.

The tesco white wraps are arguably better than the branded options, but like everyone else it seems, don't have masses of bread substitutes in general
