Happy, I thought of you at the gym tonight listening to my podcast - ben greenfield fitness. It was interviewing a guy from DNAfit about DNA testing. They test various things which all sound very intereting (and expensive ) but the reason I thought of you is because one of those things was whether you are a power or endurance person. Gives you figures in % eg 40% power 60% emdurance. You are prob best to listen to it for yourself as I will not explain it v well but here goes.... If it says you are more power then you can still do endurance stuff but you will get more gains from training if you do more power type training rather than working on your weakness. The guy they interviewed is a 400m Olympic runnner, he said that for Beijing Olympics he was doing more long distance type training but after Olympics decided to work on shorter distances as his 200m time was not as good as him competitors so wanted to work on his weakness. However, this did not seem to work for him. At a later date he had the testing it said he was more endurance so he has gone back to his old training!
So this sort of proves what we are saying that diff things work for diff people

HappyG - I just don't think you're putting enough careful thought into this. Come on, focus man! Otherwise I'll have to start giving you all my expert advice
I like the idea of lots of I I I 's on your arm but as a variation could you have 25 pairs of dots lined up - one for each lap up to 100 miles - that when completed spell out the name of a loved one - or a rude word that everyone can see developing would be funnier?
OK, one piece of advice only. When you're knackered and can't run anymore, don't despair, keep moving forward - no breaks. You can get through a lot of miles walking at 4 mph for a few hours and it's quite easy.
Oh, and another. Look after your feet and try to avoid chafing. All else will slot into place. Oh, and please stop at 100 miles exactly - then I can say I'm as good as HappyG

You guys have your priorities ALL wrong. I've just dropped serious dollar on battery powered outdoor fairy lights for my tent. Which I will hopefully be buying this week. If it's in stock. If not, at least I have the fairy lights!

Just bought some of my many foodstuff for the weekend! Only the tinned stuff/drinks - if I buy cakes or crisps now, I will eat them before Monday
