Garmin numpty question

Nope, just can't see a way to do it, and I'm stopping now coz it's bedtime and I don't need to be thinking. I'd like to be able to do it myself (onto a 310XT). It's a doddle to get TCX or GPX onto my Edge510 as a route. |

Thanks for trying, never mind. Tbc following a watch instead of relying on map seems rather like cheating, but thought it would be nice for recce (if I get the chance) when there's nobody else around

I don't think Connect lets you import files which are courses, only activities.  Their course creator doesn't even support courses as well as the watches do (it won't give you turn warnings, even though the watches support it). Charging my 310 for tinkering purposes

o_O Only way I can work out to do it is by converting it to a FIT file and dropping that in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\CoreService\LegacyProxy\(your unit ID goes here)\NewFiles with the 310xt on and Garmin Express running. It won't transfer a GPX or TCX file by that route. I've converted that file to a FIT file for you and can email it to you if you fmail me an email address. I have a program for converting TCX courses to FIT which anybody is welcome to if they want it. |

Thanks Stu!!   - I hadn't seen Milemonster's WIKI - that's brilliant and I shall put a link to it -----> so I and anyone else can find it in the future Badger - I couldn't find/get to the ProgramData\Garmin file - but then on this flippin' Windows 10 lappy I can't find anything, so I will keep trying, there must be a file hidden away somewhere - it would be useful to have an alternative option. Now all I need to do is find the time to go play on what look like the trickiest bits of the route - that also is easier said than done

I had problems with this and in the end had to dust down garmin training center and a pc with vista on. To get a route across to an old 310xt I have.
