Sigh
As the Forerunner 45 is recording HR anyway, is it possible to import the HR data to an Edge 800 Activity on Garmin Connect after the event? I'm not bothered about live data, I'd just like to easily look back and see what my heart rate was at a particular point on the ride.

I used to be able to broadcast heart rate from my 245, and my Edge 520 could connect it - but this was before setting off on my bike. So I assume you could do similar with your 45 to your 800 (before the event). You'll need to pair them upfront, IIRC.

Yes, I just worked out how to do that this morning and haven't tried it for real yet.
I commute by bike, so rather than pair them manually twice a day, and be unable to see what time it is while it's displaying my HR, I was hoping garmin Connect could just import the data from the Forerunner and add it to the Edge Activity automatically when I upload it somehow.

Sigh
Can't you display the time on your Edge during the ride?

This is what I mean.
Activities shows my running recorded on my Forerunner complete with HR.
My cycling, recorded on my Edge, doesn't record HR, unless I manually pair them before a ride, as I have now learned.
The HR info is there as my Forerunner records it 24/7.
I'm just looking for a way for Activities to import the relevant section of HR from Health Stats automatically after the event if possible.

Right; short answer is 'no'. From the Garmin forums:

"Daily HR is not being recorded each second, rather each 2 minutes as you already noticed too. The 1s sampling rate is used only during activities. So if you need the detailed data, you have to start an activity for the entire time you need to review, and the HR will be then available in the activity data, and can be exported in several file formats from Garmin Connect Web."

https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-web/320208/export-all-day-raw-heart-rate-data#:~:text=So%20if%20you%20need%20the,formats%20from%20Garmin%20Connect%20Web.

Rather than do the above, it's just easier to pair the devices and broadcast HR.

So you have to remember to go zen for at least 2 minutes for Garmin to notice?!

Thanks Sigh. The Forerunner is obviously detecting the cycling as a 'Move IQ Event' so it's a shame there isn't an option to automatically broadcast HR when that happens.
Never mind, I'll just have to do it manually. And good idea about displaying time of day on the Edge. I've got various routes I can take on my commute and it's nice to know sometimes that I've got time for an extended loop if I haven't left it too late.

A bit of weirdness this morning when I uploaded my morning activity from my 45S - it decided to give the date as yesterday and the time about an hour earlier than it had been done at.

When I woke up today I had 6000 steps that apparently happened an hour before I woke up :)
