Pickford is dreadful. Strange that he is playing worse than Joe Hart ever did but gets no grief.

I thought Tom Heaton was a shoe in until he got injured again, he’s had a very unlucky career that lad.

Joopsy, I'd agree with you on Heaton - he's been excellent all season (until he broke). Can't see how pickford is ahead of Pope in the England pecking order either.

Pickford has *loads* of critics.
Problem is, once you play 20-odd England games in a run, it seems near-impossible to be dropped, or overtaken by someone playing better. It must be hard trying to develop a defence (or a whole team) with familiarity that we all know makes for better results... but sometimes you just have to admit you backed the wrong horse.

Funny - everyone is presumably referring to Pickfords howler for the Benteke goal.
But no mention of the save he made at 2-1 from Benteke that kept the lead.
He ain't brilliant right now but dreaful ? Nah ! He's had a dip in form and I would gladly see him never play for England again.
I'm just worried Dominic Calvert-Lewin keeps scoring and Southgate was there to watch it !

I think Pickford is up there with the great England keepers like James, Kirkland, Hart, Butland, Green, Robinson, Carson and top of the lot Richard Wright.
