I'm beginning to play this a bit again, after a longish break. I'm also only just coming back to running so not going very far at a time - max 5k.

Is it acceptable gameplay to record an outing as a single run and then chop it once I'm back home into a run and a walk? The single outing would take me out of my circle so help me deal with bugs; sometimes I could plot a route where I'd run to outside the circle, then switch Garmin activity to walking to bring me back home again but the distances don't always work out perfectly for me to do that.

Hope that makes sense!

That certainly wouldn't be the most extreme example of gaming the game that has ever occurred, sallykate :)

Presumably, part way through your run and walk, you could stop, save, and start a new activity. That seems fine to me. You'd have to make sure the break meant that the activity that goes through the bug also goes out of your circle.
Or, you could categorise the activity as cross training, and record it in one go.

On my last outing I planned an appropriate length run which would take me out of my circle, then back in again. Then I was going to stop the Garmin and record the walk home, picking up more bugs on the way. Of course, halfway through the run I realised that the walk bit wouldn't go out of my circle so would be useless from a bug point of view.

Someone suggested it's possible to edit activities to split them into two types -- so record the whole thing as one run but then edit to show the last bit was actually a walk. It's not something I've ever done but it seemed like a neat solution, if allowed.

Once I'm up to running further the problem will go away!

I don't see a problem with it.

You've still done all the activity.

Will it redeposit bugs after you split it though?

I have been known to quickly cycle the bug out of my circle when I have no time for an otherwise long walk... Then walk a shorter one and pick up some jewels.

Sushi.
Trader amends your points if you edit a run but not sure if Fetchpoint alters after initial upload.

I'm sure that would be far more complex in programming terms. (Of which I know nothing)

As far as I know there’s no rolling back of changes to the fetchpoint markers. So the bugs won’t come back, or jewels, for example, once an activity is split or deleted.

That is my impression too, JCB.
