Garmin track doesn't match what you actually did - the trace being a number of metres 'off' isn't unusual 2. The path you followed on the ground doesn't match the one on the map where you checked the bug location Not going to speculate which is more likely in your case - but I've had both in the past few months

Only first time this has happened, probably because I used to draw the route by hand but now I am using me "new" Garmin...

Looking at where I actually went, from stile to stile across a field where the bug was, I was not close enough to it, while on the open streetmap the line of the footpath goes over the bug. It is also possible the Garmin doesn't drop as many markers as I do manually...

It is raining too and I am tired, stripping turf in a clients garden with another hour to go... But if I leave it till tomorrow, I will have 3 to deal with which may be even further away from each other...
