Congrats on doing the real thing, Stig! That's fantastic!

I got to CP6 today, Fort William. About 300k to go. I'm quite confident that I'll manage that before the end of October even without a proper bike at home.

I've dropped back a bit but it looks like I'll be going over the Forth Bridge on my next outing, hope it won't be a windy day.

That's nice Alpenrose, they'll fold down the bed for you. The bar prices are a bit steep though.

I stayed there once and it was the comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in, and probably the best hotel too.

The Medical Society at my university got banned from Gleneagles. Nothing to do with me, I couldn't be doing with other medical students. And also didn't have the money for Medical Society balls.

Oops. I think the VT dentists (equivalent of pre registration) got banned from Slaley Hall in Northumbria after a car was driven across the golf course.

I’m sure Leeds dental students were also banned from various places, definitely Headingley Stadium, though I think we were out priced anyway after their upgrade.

Nice spot on Lake Windermere to celebrate getting past half way. Looks familiar too as I ran past in the opposite direction virtually in mid-April.

Made it past 1000 miles, yay!

I don't think I've ever cycled that much in one year before. This challenge has been a huge motivation to use the bike a lot more. I barely take public transport now, I mostly hop on one of the hundreds of free nextbikes around me and simply ride where I want to go.

Last weekend, I used my subscription for the first time in another city with the same scheme. That opens up new options when I'm travelling. I can rent a bike for 30 minutes for free.
