It's very easy to research and find something - and hopefully there were enough clues in the podcast for guidance too as I knew it would be something that not everyone would instantly be able to find an item for!

If my phone battery hadn’t given in (wore itself out looking for a signal by Haweswater yesterday) I’d have a photo of Belted Galloways which would have been good for number 10 this month. In the absence of that, here are belated pictures from last month’s list. First, a picture of a riverbank. You should be able to see where the banks are because they have boats moored to them; the rest of the water is surplus to requirements.

On the same run, I found a street art contender, although it’s more path art - on the bridge from which the previous photo was taken. The first photo I took for February’s challenge was a freestanding ice sculpture of a pile of books with a sign attached saying ‘If there is a problem with this sculpture please contact etc’. By the time I remembered that there was/had been some graffiti under a bridge over the river the path was swimmable*, but not runnable. York isn’t street art central, that I’ve noticed.

The next image is an icon of York which could appear on the cover of a book, although the book would probably be called something like ‘Who Knew? or, The Totally Unexpected Consequences of Building on Flood Plains A Lot’. Every time the river is up, the bridge is lined with people taking photos, because no matter how often you can see it, it still looks compellingly wrong. It’s the day after riverbank photo, and even more water has piled down the catchment.

*Not swimmable. River in spate, which is said to contain Weill’s disease, and is currently very cold - not a good plan.
