Don't drink them as quickly, then :-p.

Horses for courses, still plenty of those session beers around in England, surely? For smaller brewers, there's a lot more money potentially to be made in premiumising their offer (which usually involves higher abv) than bbbs for a market which has shrunk immensely with amongst other things widespread deindustrialisation.

Our local small brewery brockleybrewery.co.uk has five beers from 3.8% to 5.2%. There's definitely an advantage in the lower alcohol ones.

I tried 3 9%ers, a 7%er and a 5%er at the MBCF last Thurs small measures but all on top of a pint of 6% at Marble.

Fri was hard work.

untapped is ace isn't it.

ok I forgot to say anything about the Manchester Beer fest. I loved it. Massive range of beers old and new breweries, nice food selection, good feeling about the place. The central bar of local/breweries who helped with sponsoring was a good idea. I didn't get there until Saturday so misse dout on a few brews on my list (it was online).

Reverse Order
West of the Sun, Torrside
Imperial IPA, McMullens (Excellent)
Aurora, Burning Sky, excellent
New Zealand Pale, Brewsmith
XXXB, Batemans for old times sake.
Maverick, Brightside.

A good selection, pints, so not as may as I would normally have next year I am going early doors and having halves.

One thing, it needs a band to liven it up.

Redwillow Smoked Porter last night.

5.7%

No, sorry no. Occasionally I try these dark beers and no they don't work for me, the occasional stout is quite good, I didn't like this at all.
