Tell you what folks, I know that as fell runners we've all got tales of extreme conditions, but I really did experience some outrageous wind yesterday. We went for a little jog up to Ingleborough yesterday from Clapham and I swear it was nearly impossible to make forward progress into the oncoming wind, I just about managed to crawl to the trig point. Turning round with the wind behind you brought a whole new set of challenges!

I had thought this would be a nice little recovery run after the Hebden 22 last Saturday, but it turned into anything but. I went up via Little Ingleborough btw, never done that line before. Had a look down Gaping Gill enroute, that was a bit scary :-)

Didn't realise you were at Hebden NE. Didn't see you, but then again in my current state we were probably at opposite ends of the pack!

Seriously? I was standing right next to you in the hall at the start while you were chatting with Andy F. Andy even said hello to me! We got the impression we were being given a cold shoulder! I did cheer you both in btw.

Bloody hell. Sorry mate!! I know it was early and I'm crap with faces, but I didn't think I was that bad! Next time feel free to prod me.

I'm amazed you weren't at home and in the bath by the time we got in. Thanks for the support ... even if I didn't notice!

Oh god, sorry :-(

We're both notoriously bad with faces, to the point of not always recognising extended family so unless you're a parent, sibling or offspring it's about 50-50 :-/ phal and DaveA more like 70-30 ;-)

Next time prod us! We're not rude, honest.

I'm put in mind of a parkrun a few years ago when a woman bounded over and greeted us both by name and proceeded to rattle off when she'd last seen us, where we'd been, even where we'd shared a meal. She was really pleased to see us. And we had absolutely no clue who she was...

Don't worry, I didn't take it personally. I knew you weren't recognizing us because you walked right past me with your pie, eye contact and everything. I was sitting with Julie G and Daz.

You only know who we are because of the dogs, I reckon 🤣

I have to say I have just had a good giggle at the above! 🤣🤣🤣

I’ve got a decent memory for faces and names. I met Dave A in the Lakes near Dale Head and I think freaked him out because I recognised him in spite of only ever seen his avatar online. Stef is terrible. We meet folk out, have a chat and as we walk away she’ll ask who it was we’d met
