DT it is remarkably forgettable.
Something to do with each issue being remarkably similar to the previous, which in itself is remarkably similar to the recurring issues of Trail magazine

Does anyone know why the Lakes 10 Peaks has such small entry numbers nowadays? A quick check back and the long course had 84 runners in 2015 when I did it .. last year just 34?! Tempted to enter but not convinced it’ll even go ahead in 2020: 1 person entered so far!
I appreciate it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but can’t understand why so few people want to do it. Maybe it’s that climb up Carl Side, I swore never again after that (amongst much other swearing).

Maybe it's not well publicised enough, not one I'd stumbled on before?
The short course looks good and possibly doable (for me I mean, you lot wouldn't get out of breath ) the long looks hard!

zp, supply and demand? There's now a large number of ultras in the Lakes so maybe the numbers are being diluted? Plus it's not the cheapest around (although it's also far from the most expensive!)

I think it’s very generous with cutoffs? I thought it was a great race - I preferred it to Lakeland 100 - but I guess it’s not that well known. Maybe too long to be a regular fell race but still requiring navigation unlike trail and the sky running branded ones, which I imagine deters a few.

I wouldn't say it's an uninspiring route really, it's a tough one over the highest ground in England. Maybe it's because of its hybrid nature, an ultra that requires navigational prowess and route choices.
