Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Cheers for suggestions.

Burley moor is a possibility. Xmas and new year ones may or may not work.

Chevin chase is probably already full 3 years ago ;-)

Half Trog is far too horrible for a first race. Even I would have 2nd thoughts about doing it, which is why I probably haven't!!

Lot of good suggestions there (especially Burley Moor Run for a beginner), but I'd throw in Shepherd's Skyline also early in November. That was one of my early fell runs and felt like a proper one; cheap, cheerful and muddy ending with a journey home in the car listening to the Saturday afternoon football with the heater on full.

Just don't suggest Tour of Pendle ;)

I note there's a new totley ac race on boxing day which might be useful for me. And less oversubscribed than chevin chase.

They're only doing eod.... might need to get there early!!

Three Shires done and dusted, stunning day in the Lakes. Me and SimonF finished today. Nobody got hurt, which given recent events is a bonus 🙂
