I was meant to be doing three shires too. Even went as far as route planning with some of the "more experienced" members of the club. And then forgot to enter the damn thing!
The state of my legs at the moment says it's probably a good thing. Might go and have another recce on Sunday instead given K is working.

I'll see you there, NE. Last time I did it I came the wrong way off Pike O'Blisco and ended up being cheered on the road past Blea Tarn by spectators who thought I was leading the Langdale Marathon. :(. Hoping for some more solid nav this time and maybe better weather.

Not that one Tim, I mean the Langdale Horseshoe fell race later in October. I haven't been able to do it these past two years due to illness, so being in a position to do it again will mean a great deal to me
Good luck with the marathon!

Anyone got any good suggestions for "beginner" friendly races nearish Leeds in Nov/Dec/Jan?
Only one I can think of is Stoop.
Needs to be pleasant enough not to put someone off from never doing another one again....
(The "beginner" is an orienteer and used to running offroad, but not so much the hills)
