When we were learning to lead fall and belay lead falls - we were told to effectively do that - take the rope as if to make high clip and then 'fall'
They were quite exciting!!

That sounds similar to my Intro to Winter Mountaineering course. Ice axe arrests in a corrie off Cairngorm...
Well, we were young!!

Yep I've done that, practicing lead falls is a lot more fun than taking an unexpected one lol
I have also done a winter skills course there Angus (Glenmore Lodge?) lots of fun sliding down the hill 😅

I need to do a winter skills course. Aviemore is less than an hour away so Glenmore is a likely venue.

Any recommendations for a Winter Skills course in Scotland? I’ve still got my 40th birthday present from Alix to take because of Covid, which was a Winter Skills course.
We’ve had one recommended by an instructor where we climb. I’m not looking at doing one until probably February next year so I can sort out time off etc.
