Think it’s going to be a while before I start my attempt at climbing. Don’t suppose any indoor climbing wall will want novices for a while now. Hope they can reopen for experienced climbers soon.

Our wall opened for inductions straight out of lockdown. They’ll take beginners straight away as they will need custom to survive.

The induction for our bouldering area is literally a 5 min health and safety run through. I’m sure they were still doing them post lockdown.

I’ve been following some mountaineering threads on Twitter. Recently Everest Today and Alan Annette have been tracking this winters attempts on K2. Both of them seem certain that the first winter ascent of K2 may be done tomorrow by an all Sherpa team. One is attempting without oxygen.
