My Uckfield team match, which started last May(!) is still ongoing because of a perma-vacationing opponent.

Isn't there a limit to how long you can be on vacation for? (Maybe not if you're a Diamond member). I was playing a random last year who was on vacation for a long time, after about 6 weeks the match timed out in my favour.

I think you get a finite number of days but it’s a large number for paying members. Pain in the arse when they go away for months, but that’s just how it is. And having the option does reduce accidental timeouts. |

Matches don't have a no vacation option. It seems sensible to me that they should have it for matches given they are at most two games and you know when it will happen. With tournaments they can drag on with multiple rounds.

Yes, they are a Diamond member. They also seem to have 276 current games, which can't help.

If you spot they are playing blitz games or puzzles during the time that they are “on vacation”, you can report them to chess.com easily by clicking on their profile, report & then choosing the option “stalling” If enough opponents report them, an automatic message will be sent to them saying ‘move or resign’ - they can get banned for consistent stalling. |
