Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

I'm on day 2 of no booze. I was toying with attempting to give up altogether but I don't think that is realistic so I've set myself a target of Mon - Thurs this week, then I'm allowed to drink at 'events' this weekend then we'll review.

I'm playing Who Squares Wins and it is really helping me get out running again.

I think I'll get a new bra too after a rather nasty chafing incident. Sudocreme is magic though for fixing it.

I used to get really bad chaffage with sports bras, swear by sudocrem and the anti chaff that a I cannot for the life of me remember now!

My bra was a everyday one... sports bra I'll get new once I drop a bit in size as definitely chaffing is a sign they getting old and new one normally sorts that

Booze is a big part of the weight thing... I did give up completely for five years but started to gave the odd couple again and now I'm not looking to never drink again, just very aware it won't help battling the bulge

Been at my creative class tonight, I'm a silversmith as a hobby, funny I never get hungry in those two hours!

.. Bodyglide. Yes I'd just had a sort out of my room and that meant I couldn't find the bodyglide. Doh! Found it now so should be OK.

ooo silversmithing! I'd love to try that. I bought some of the silver clay stuff that you can mould and then fire, but I haven't gotten around to playing with it yet.

I've been silversmithing with silver wire and sheet for about 3 years, totally love it - never tried the molding silver but I know you can create loads of cool things with it! We are just playing with moulding from wax at the moment.. carve the model into wax and then get it moulded - all very exciting!!

Hi madymoo - yes please do!

So... I'm on day six... managed to reach around 3 miles a day walking this week - today is a challenge though as I've meetings all the way with a very very very slim 30min window... I'm determined to walk at least a mile in that.

I'm very jaded today, but I was able to get my belt a notch down - I'm not jumping through hoops yet as it is only day six but that's a nice thing to see

Water challenge today - I've had 3 coffee's already - moved my cup to the back of my desk and focusing in on water for the rest of the day

The moleskin is working - we went for a walk after tea last night (2miles) - and made a packed to do that on a Weds night, avoiding the pub on the way back!!!

I did get a "hungry" moment last night and just had crackers and peanut butter, plus one piece of bread and butter - damage limitation!

This is interesting to me because it's one of the things that does happen to me when I try and be "clean" so to speak... Wednesday seems to be the day I need to eat more substantially otherwise I tend to get into that binge monster where nothing fills you up..

Today I'm ok... but I do understand that this week I've added so far 11 more miles than I've done in months! My runs have upped from 1mile to 2miles (Go me!!!!) so that too is more than I've been doing in around 6 months

BUT progress... small steps.. I don't want to burn out in a week - I want to make changes that will stay with me

That's awesome progress!

You don't want to increase dramatically - as you say, you'll burn out or get some sort of niggling injury and it won't be sustainable.

Sorry forgot to add....

- Buying an expensive note book & using it BIG THUMBS UP
- Free Steps App on the phone - MAJOR THUMBS UP
- Actually having a lunch break and some fresh air.. MIRACLE!

I've worked here for 8 years, and this week is the first week I've had a proper break every day (today is a question mark, but I'll make time)

All sounds very positive Fru.

This is where I am currently.

1. 3 stone over weight
2. Injured (PF) so no running. Cycling but not as much as I should
3. Walk the dog 3 miles at least each day but have been doing for so long that body thinks it is normal.

4. Desk bound all day
5. Generally a pig with food. Have a yeast intolerance so have to be careful what I do and don't eat. Sadly chocolate and cake generally do not have yeast in, nor do potatoes.

6. Booze - I can take it or leave it. Will have one or two at the weekend unless on holiday. Again due to yeast issues cant have wine, bear, cider so it is spirits for me. Have just come back from a trip where I drank and ate a lot of yeast (silly me will never learn).

So first thing for me to tackle is more water - I dont do fizzy drinks or fruity drinks so it is a case of just upping my water intake.

Next is to cycle more regularly - have 100 mile ride to do at end of July.

Hopefully running will happen soon again too.

Moo
