Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I’ve never stopped at Gloucester services because my Mum and brother both live within 25 miles. But I’ve heard it’s really good. We like Tebay a lot.

I like Tebay too. From a running perspective, it's worth just parking in the village as it's really easy access to the Northern Howgills. I don't know why, but they seem much less popular than the southern fells - you barely see a soul.

We often stop at Gloucester (Northbound) services when we’re returning home from Devon or Cornwall although it’s only about 45mins to home. We’ll generally get some lunch or buy something for an evening meal from their shop.

I stopped at Gloucester for the first time this summer, it doesn’t often fit with my travel patterns but it’s definitely worth a visit.

I got two for my birthday this year and they are very different so I will use them both in different circumstances. Love them both.

Fuel Lagoon is a lot more budget friendly and packs up a lot tidier. Blocks a lot of light. They pack up so small they can just live in the van permanently, so would be great if I ever forgot my others or just didn't expect to need them.

Rainbow is a lot more expensive, takes a long time to arrive and is larger when packed but is thermal so keeps the van warm, better quality and more light blocking. I also get no condensation inside with these at all. They're very customisable also. I love the way the velcro comes half down so you can let some light in during the day without removing them.

I used to use internal ones with suction cups. They took much longer to put on than the other ones.
