I was surprised and somewhat annoyed at the volume on the motorway even after 11pm, as I was already very tired after 7 hours of work and 8 hours of driving - particularly the person who drove a Hymer in the fast lane for about 10 miles. I also saw a lot of traveller caravans on the move, I guess easier to hide in plain sight. Thanks for the information Synge

You pay for their handbook and in it are thousands of places where you can stay overnight at no cost. Most of them are pub car parks but there are other car parks listed in it too. We’ve used it several times now and always have a meal at the pub we’re staying at. That’s the benefit for them, I suppose.

I know it's BH weekend etc, but I suspect local sentiment against campervans is only going to worsen
