Well, as I imagine most of you know the standard vents in campervans (particular those with pop-tops) don't impede a midge's progress for one second, the mesh is just too big. We have made some sew-over patches out of some midge netting for the pop-top, this took ages as we tried various materials .... I hasten to add that my wife Helen (Bobs) did most of the work here. Don't waste your time with heavy denier nylon, it really is difficult to attach. Then we have covered the window inserts (again, useless mesh - they came with the van) with anti-midge netting and are hoping it will work.

Does your fridge work when you're not on EHU? We've always struggled with our battery running low very quickly when the fridge is on. Just read that this isn't how it should work when troubleshooting another issue. Seems that the fridge should only work while driving or while plugged in at the campsite.
We're currently having problems with the fridge. It was on EHU yesterday and stopped working. Assumed a fuse, but checked the fuse and it looks OK. We pulled the fridge out to take a look and found an AC option and plugged it in, fridge then turned on and worked fine. Back on DC and it's not working again.
We also don't think that battery charges when driving.
Is our van wired up wrong or something?

Ronnie, I'm feeling guilty for not answering your question ..... have you got the fridge issue sorted? It could be of course that your leisure battery is just fooked, but most power controllers will have a transformer (and possibly also a rectifier) that turns hook-up AC into consumable DC and you shouldn't have to switch to AC in order to get the fridge to work - that does suggest an issue somewhere. Did you spot what the voltage operating ranges were on the fridge?
