Can anyone tell me if crows mate on the ground? If not our resident couple were having a 'tiff' on my lawn yesterday whilst I was hosting a very important meeting ;)

I've not seen crows on the job but saw a couple of oystercatcher sneak a quickie fly-by one in once in a field. Fly, land, get jiggy, fly off ;-)

I suppose we're wondering whether they "do it" on the ground or up a tree?! Anywhere they fancy I would guess but I don't really know!
Blackcap singing again this morning..and Chiffs too.

Fragile Do Not Bend
Walked along the Thames between Teddington and Richmond yesterday. Saw more introduced birds than native! Parakeets everywhere, and plenty of egyptian geese and mandarin ducks.

To be fair they are very sweet together for noisy crows, lots of walking side my side and preening going on. Its interesting seeing them walking around together the male is quite a bit bigger than the female, he is quite focused on if I have put any food out but she doesn't take her eyes off him..... ;)

Its turning into a Hitchcock movie here... Mr Crow is insisting on perching on my farmyard gate where he can see his reflection in my living room window. The window is now covered in feet prints where he keeps attacking it feet first! I tried to take a photo of the prints but sadly my skills are insufficient you will just have to take my word for it.

Its very loud when he hits the window!

Couple of ringed plovers for me on the beach at Rhyl today, not one I get to see very often at all.

Fragile Do Not Bend
At my old house we used to get pigeons (or might have been collared doves) flying into our patio doors on a regular basis. They make a nice ghostly pigeon imprint on the glass.
