That's great. I was thinking of going on one of those weekends but dates didn't suit. Too many pesky running fixtures.

Fragile Do Not Bend
On a walk in the countryside near Sandwich today we saw a little egret, heard and saw lots of skylarks (some were hovering relatively close to the ground), and some parakeets.

Also avoided flattening a couple of partridges (red legged, I think) on a stretch of country lane on the North Downs.

I've enjoyed working in the garden and seeing the reed buntings. Fizz trod on a toad whilst turning the compost. Big bugger but hope he is ok once put in the wood pile.

Hedgehogs now regular visitors.

Dave A...you've beaten me to it! My first Chiffchaff singing today, a day after yours.
What superb sightings by everyone this last few days..how good to have Reed Buntings in a garden WWobble..are you near other suitable habitat then?

Last night whilst out running heard the disturbing screams of a rabbit being taken by an owl :-( This morning we waited while two swans crossed the pavement in front of us and disturbed a little egret along the river bank.

Heron carrying a fairly large branch today. Big enough to cause damage if it had fallen! šŸ˜µ

I had a lovely walk in the Malvern Hills with the hounds earlier today. A couple of chiffchaff were out singing. Lots of green woodpecker. I'm certain I saw a meadow pipit as well.
