Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Heron have catholic taste and will eat eels (which can crawl through wet grass) and amphibians, plus potentially small mammals and baby birds

and Herons are so patient too! I have run along a river and seen one standing "heron still" in the shallows only to pass it again twenty minutes later on my return and it can still be standing there waiting for a catch!

Great Great White Egret bonners; never seen one myself. Even better to have seen one while out on your run.
Saw the small Starling murmuration yesterday at a regular place (c 2,000). A handful of Shoveller and Wigeon as well as the usual Tufties, Coot, Pochard, Moorhen etc as dusk fell.

10 black birds on the rowan tree in the garden at one point this morning.

One of the joys of working from home.

Second one I've seen Steve, the first one was at RSPB Conwy a couple of months back and I was looking out for it. This one was more exciting as totally unexpected and even better, like you said, on a run!
