Feral Pigeons..ugh.. As for Kingfishers well, always a treat to see. Unfortunately nearly all the ones I see (and that's not very often) are flashes of blue with that high call as they fly along the river. What a good obs then DaveA.

I think I saw a sparrowhawk out hunting earlier. From a distance it was a slightly bigger, really fast, bird hurtling towards and scattering a group of small birds from round a tree 😀

Yes it is cute. I like pigeons. There are lots of magpies where I live and sometimes they try to get into the flat via the tilt and turn window.
When I'm swimming in the local lake, the resident kingfisher often sits on a plinth and I've managed to tread water quite close and get a good look.

I don't get feral pigeons in the garden. Wood pigeons, collared doves and sometimes stock doves.

I got rid of the bird table because of the feral pigeons, now only have feeders, but they just feed on the droppings from the feeders. If anything their numbers are growing and they seem to spend most of the day on our roof. Have to say slightly fed up of them as they put off the other birds, but looks like they're here to stay

Little egret flew over the motorway in front of me this morning. It's a causeway of reclaimed land with a manmade lagoon to one side, but still amazed!

12 b***** Feral Pigeons in my garden this morning; I have feeders too--which I thought might solve the problem but they quickly learned how to hang on to the perches on the side. Not merely trying to get food from the outlet but swinging the feeder and causing seed to fall to the floor for the rest of the party to enjoy just like your lot bonners! They have clearly impacted on Collared Doves using the garden and which were once common but now a rarity. Nice car tick Heinzster.

I feel your pain Steve. I'd love to know how to humanely get them to more on.
