Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Oh Kinky, I've been in Austria for over a fortnight now and I haven't seen a snow bunting this year. :(

Have just had to look up both those, they are worth an expedition over shingle in no doubt bracing weather, beautiful creatures
Muntjac made me almost jump out of my skin this morning, very noisy for such a small animal - & 3 foxes yesterday, 1st for months

Took the "bins" to the floodwater to check out the gulls which had been there all week...huh! Must have been the wrong time of day cos they were all gone! But...a Chiffchaff catching flies galore was a bonus...after a quiet Garden Bird Watch.

Bugger all doing garden watch yesterday. Walk round the park today and we had great, blue, coal and long tail tits. Plus a solitary Goldcrest.

Saw a Pheasant playing Frogger on the M1 - made it through 7 lanes but not the 8th.

Yesterday was a trip to the North Coast of Co Antrim. Spectacular as always, sea was rough with plenty of spray. Some jackdaws were playing just outside our restaurant window - soaring on strong winds, moving upwind and then belting downwind again at high speed! Looked like they were having a ball.
Lots of mixed gulls sitting the weather out on the carpark, and on grassy areas. Saw a flock of Lapwings on the drive home, happily feeding in a field.

Garden watch... magpie, pigeon, crow, gull... seriously not at all what I normally spot in the garden! Could hear song birds but no spots!!! nothing visiting the sunflower seeds or peanuts.... not even a sign of my usually resident robin :(

Ended up happy to spot the hedgehog cranberry crunch bowl being visited by a cheeky little house mouse! :)

my garden watch was dominated by Starlings. Well they are struggling too I guess so good for them that they totally took over my feeders! Not much for me this weekend. I was lucky enough to see a flock of Snow Buntings up at holkham in Norfolk in November. lovely lovely birds. Gotta love Norfolk!
