Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My raptor identification is awful. Once mistook a rook for a golden eagle and my birding friend has never let me forget it! We have Bitterns now in Stodmarsh reserve near me in Kent - haven't been lucky enough to see them there yet. Rumour has it Otters are back on the Medway as well!

I can see 8 blackbirds feeding on one patch of grass. I don't recall ever seeing that many before. Do they often go mob-handed.?

Cetti's quiet around here lately but they sure do "explode" when the time is right! Floodwater on fields with plenty of gulls (still want to catch a Med amongst them so will have to forgo a run to do that!) and 25 Carrion Crows finding food along the water's edges.

Huge amount of gulls on the floods (and mud) in Airedale too. Bet there's a Med or two if someone staked them out nerd

A trek along the beach into a howling headwind today, all made worth it by 3 shorelarks showing beautifully for us after a bit of a wait :-)

(Phal - we parked at your RNR leg 3 start, went out along the bank you run along, but then at the beach we turned right instead of left, away from Holkham not towards...)

Why do birds choose such hostile places to live?! Yesterday we trekked along a different windswept beach to find a flock of 30-odd snow bunting :-)
