It's only April so there are only native nestlings about. Things like blackbird chicks can survive a bit of frost under their ma. Current uk temperatures aren't much below average for the time of year.

Sandpiper (common?) Sparrow (Spanish - who knew there was such a thing? Not me. M & F, although a whole bunch around, just not easily captured in one shot) And after quite a few fruitless days, that Cattle Egret

Looks like common sand with the white braces. Spanish sparrow are everywhere on Gozo. Great birds with an ace cheep 🤎

Dawn chorus included full lapwing verse today. Wonderful song. Seemed to get a tawny hooting back too.

Northern Exile
Seem to be lots of curlews around, I'm sure we never saw this many last year when we first moved here. Just been overflown by a formation of three in full song!

Curlews seem pretty good here, too. Lapwing looking a bit thin on the ground. Tons of Golden Plover.
