Fascinating! I'll be keeping an eye on the WaxwingsUK presence on Twitter.

They seem to have been in Stokesly for around a week with the numbers gradually building. I saw 40+ at a quick reckoning but an hour or so after I saw them the flick was counted at 68. Down the road in Helmsley a flock that numbered 5 last Friday was up to 50 by yesterday.

WaxwingsUK on Twitter doesn't seem to have been updated since Nov 5. I hope the maintainer hasn't been predated.

Never seen a nuthatch on my feeders, although I know they around (I've heard one a few hundred metres away on a couple of occasions). They'd be a great garden tick!

I have nuthatches on my feeders all the time, year round. I had stopped thinking of them as unusual, but they really are lovely birds.
