4 very curious birds on my run this morning. Could have been partridge (without a pear tree) though I’m not convinced looking up a description. Was a farmstead area so may not have even been wild birds to be honest.

That’s what I initially wondered as they were predominantly grey though they had black around the face (almost more of the red partridge features). It’s hard to tell from photos but they looked bigger and rounder than partridges. They were certainly sexually dimorphic.

Guinea fowl?

Did it have long tail feathers (like a pheasant) or stubby?

Big mixed flocks of redwings and fieldfares over the fields today, biggest I've seen this year. Winter thrushtastic!

My little friend decided he wanted to visit me inside today :) He flew in and sat on the edge of the wooden bench, watching me work. Then he was quite happy to be mandandled out when I had to leave ☺️ He felt very warm! I know chickens are warm animals but this little one was a right hand warmer!
