Still must be spectacular to see.

After reading that paper you posted on it, the only thing I don't recall seeing is if it happens anywhere else or just across the Severn

Without perusing the paper bonners I think it's seen south of a line from the Wash to the mouth of the Severn. I've not read any reports of a movement noted on such a scale further north. What I'd say though is that on a clear, crisp, calm morning between 7.30 am and 9 am, look skywards (often the Woodpigeons pass at a great height and binoculars needed!). Flocks passing SW should be obvious if they're there.

I think I saw a small flock of fieldfare at lunch time. A bit like in spring it takes a while to ‘get your eye in’ with autumn migrants who’ve not seen for months

We get (and are currently getting) big movements of Woodpigeon through here (mid Derbyshire) at that sort of time Steve. 3500 reported over the res this morning, along with over 3000 Fieldfare (first of the year), 4500 Redwing and 1100 Starlings. I bumped into the guy doing the counting during this morning's run (just as a 1000 Fieldfare passed over) and he said he had also had a sizeable flock of Pinkies through.

No Woodpigeons today. Too much cloud.
Great Derbyshire movement flyingfinn, they must have veered away from our line this time. Doesn't look as if any perfect weather is on the horizon and there might not be any huge movements now.

Didn't see a single definite fieldfare last year and only a couple of redwings. I'm hoping new location and plenty of berries means I may see some this year.
