Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I watched a sparrowhawk plucking a pigeon for over half an hour on my lawn once.

I was driving along a narrow leafy lane this afternoon when a raptor flew past and landed in a tree. As I crept forward it would take off and stop a short way in front. I had a friend in the car and pulled in at the end of the lane and got my bird book out. We both agreed that we'd been watching a goshawk. Very special to see that. :)

3 Golden Eagles and a few crossbill. It's like being in a different country up in the Cairngorms.

Still seeing jays a'plenty in the cemetery. They're so nonchalant, I'm getting a lovely view of their pinkness, eye markings and the blue at close quarters. I love their flight pattern and the scalloped wings.

Iโ€™m very envious of your trip and look forward too to hearing more about it

Very quiet here. Not seen any pinkies over and only one suspected flock of winter thrushes. No waxwing (yet) ;-)

My back garden has suddenly become a favourite spot for a mob of magpies. There were seven in there at one stage this morning! They all sat on the fence and took turns to fly down and grab the food from the bird table. They seemed to have worked out there was only space for three at a time! ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜‚
