Chiffchaff in the garden this morning. Plenty of Redwings through Fair Isle! None here yet in South East Wales.

Some redwing been reported here in last week or so but I’ve not seen any
Seen / heard on Saturday in Rotherham area - a skein of pinkies heading east, loads of LTT plus a chiffchaff. Oh and amazingly a singing skylark (it was a lovely ‘spring-like’ day)

Sparrowhawk being very patient this morning, sat on the fence by my feeders pre run, still there now, been over an hour.
Kestrel hunting on my run.
Plenty of berries everywhere, but no winter thrushes beyond a couple of blackbirds and a song thrush

bonners, I'd like to think so. But isn't the determinant of whether or not it's a waxwing winter what is happening in Scandinavia and north west Russia rather than what is happening here?
