Next door's virtuoso starling, who treated me to some herring gull mimickry a couple of days ago, just broke off from his buzzard mewing to do a nigh-on perfect bit of chicken clucking. It's fascinating!

Loving all the spring stories.
First sedge warblers for me this year on a jaunt out along the river, plus lots of singing willow warblers and a handful of swallows. Whitethroats can't be far way...
Still bloody cold, though.

I always find you have to be careful with the peasants. They keep running out into the road, not watching where they are going. They usually end up with a face full of car bumper and the mess is terrible for removing.
