Thanks DT, I'll keep listening. We have a tuneful dunnock in the garden, so I'll keep listening to tell the difference

A very tuneful Wren this morning, gorgeous wee birds.
I used this Birdnet app to try to identify another bird, it gave green winged real as almost certain 😳. I have my doubts

Good run yesterday morning up some open moorland and through woodland revealed lots of pheasant and grouse, a pair of buzzards, oystercatchers, and a red kite.

First singing blackcaps of the year for me this morning. That's the shortest gap between first singing chiffchaff and first singing blackcap ('CC-BC delta') that I can recall.

Curiously, while listening to the blackcap singing, I watched a little bunch of redwings moving through the trees. I always find these summer/winter mixes intriguing.

Not a bird, but mid-afternoon today, completely nonchalantly, a fox wandered across the garden. I've seen them around here at dawn or dusk, but can't recall doing so at 2pm.
