DT, hope you manage to get home some time!
Quite a few chiffchaffs out on my 12 mile country run today. They have properly arrived. How long before a blackcap, I wonder?

Home. Chiffchaffless
Two drumming GSW, a jay and a dipper best I could manage
Going to try for something easier later - maybe a hoopoe or bee-eater or hummingbird

Chiffchaff on a more local patch this morning. Still not on the Wedge yet, but in a park close to us...... shame it's so muddy over there as I won't be going back with the hounds for a bit.....

First curlew of the year on today's run, and heard Oyks too. Plus pied wags and skylarks, and the mippits are getting vocal again. No chiffs or chaffs.

Between Ely and Coveneny there is a couple of fields full of Swans, minumum two hundred. Just looked it up and I believe they are Bewick Swans on their migration back to Russia.

It must be swan moving weekend. There have been a number of reports of flocks of Whoopers moving through Derbyshire on their way north in the last two days.
