Scribbler, goldcrests are little gems. Haven't seen one in a while.

I have been longing to see one and knew that they are in the park. I spotted a wee bird at the bottom of a bush and watched it for a good while before I could get a good look and positive ID. And I'd previously heard the zee call that you lot had told me to listen out for. I'm a tiny bit annoyed with myself that I had accidentally switched my new lens to manual focus so don't think I have a sharp photo. But I can't really be annoyed when I skived off for an hour in the snow and saw a goldcrest And I know I can go back and hopefully see more.

In the discussion about what's on your Garden List I forgot to include Pheasant which was a bit of an omission given at one stage I had one that if it thought the supply of peanuts wasn't sufficient was prone to not just being a garden visitor but would invite itself into the house as well 😀
Now the small local shoot is defunct there aren't anywhere near as many strays wandering the village and I don't see them close to the house but at one time I always had at least one resident. And though the one above was the boldest one plenty of the others would come to the window and tap if there was no food out for them.

Lovely shot, Scribbler! I want one! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled, they're easily missed.
Anyway, here's my current garden list. Couldn't find the original file, so this is recreated from scratch and it's quite possible I've missed one or two.
Goldfinch Greenfinch Chaffinch Brambling Siskin Lesser Redpoll Linnet House Sparrow Dunnock Goldcrest Blackcap Wren Robin Song Thrush Blackbird Redwing Fieldfare Bluetit Great Tit Coal Tit Long-tailed Tit Black-headed Gull Magpie Jay Carrion Crow Jackdaw Sparrowhawk Starling Red-legged Partridge Woodpigeon Feral Pigeon Collared Dove Great Spotted Woodpecker Green Woodpecker
34 in total. This excludes all birds seen from, rather than in, the garden, and all birds just flying over (even ones the BTO would include because they're actively using the sky, feeding, such as swifts and indeed buzzards).

Yorkshire Pie
This lunchtime's walk in the park had some long tailed tits and a huge flock of redwing in addition to the usual suspects.
