Chiffchaff was back this morning. Sitting in the rose bush by my feeders calling. Later on I thought I could hear two seperate calls close by. So there may be a pair hanging around.

So much for the wood pigeon nest, now chopping the tree down with the nest in. Been round the neighbour's and got a load of abuse off the contractors.

My ‘broken chiffchaff‘ was back this morning in the local copse as spring. Pleased to report he’s more of a chiff than a chiffchaff :-)

A feature of hill walking / running around our area is the decent number of mipit still around. Quite a few in the meadows above Wharfedale yesterday. In fairness it felt like a day in May, not late September

Lovely isnt it DT, similar to my mountain walk on Sunday.

First seafront run in a while for me today, tide was in so got some lovely close ups of the drying out cormorants on the groynes. A lot of white on their chests at this time of year I noticed.

A buzzard day today - first one flying out of some trees

It then perched low down on a field fence post. But too far away for any decent pics.

Then 2 flew out and perched on the power lines/posts

There was another one - but it decided against sharing or taking the next pole and disappeard into the trees. It could have been the first one again, since all within ½ mile.
