It was much bigger that a kestrel. I thought that at first, but it looked massive.

Yes, I think that's it for swifts for this year. Spent quite a bit of time today looking up at the sky but saw none. Sad.

You were right.definitely buzzard. Went back this morning and there were 3 of them. Got some better pictures.

I've seen Swallows in late November--ok---in the past--but they're around the coast here well into October. Redwings bred on Fair Isle this year. |

I saw a flock of 20-30 thrush-sized birds in a large open field when I was running this morning. Unfortunatley, the weather was so dim and murky, I couldn't be sure if these were fieldfares, redwings or both.
