Swifts here again this evening - I did wonder if the ones I saw the other day were on their way to the coast and then home. But no, they're still here - mostly high up, with the occasional screaming low pass over the pond/res/my head!

Little Egret flying above the river when on my run. Never seen one along that river before. Also some sand martins. Wasn't luck enough to see the 3 otters that have been photographed over the last few days though.

Sounds a great place for a run. I’ve seen several otter. Most have been in the last minutes of daylight. They are well worth having a few evening walks to see plus from my understanding they are creatures of habit. I’ve seen one twice by the same bridge and another where locals told me about regular sightings

If you look in the gallery, there is a picture of a Fan Tail that was harassing me today ( I can't work out how to put the picture on here ... Sorry)

Saw my first two swifts of the year today, adult and young. I think they've been self isolating in our neighbourhood. Also 4 Emus.

Golden plover and common sand on today's run. You'd have thought they'd have more sense than to be out in that weather!

I saw what I think was a heron on my run yesterday evening. It was a fair way off, sitting on the wall of bridge crossing a small brook. It appeared to be white, it that might just have been because it was in the sun. It launched before we got anywhere near to get a better look, but I can’t think of what else it might have been.

It could have been a little egret ER? Similar size to a heron but all white.
