Yes, of course DT. As the lake I took the picture from is just down the road from Ashington, I assumed it was one of the storks.

I better go to a certain opticians.

I'm hearing far more song thrushes recently than I do most years. Has anyone else noticed this?

Cool wrenlet

Mistle thrush seem very common here but we get song thrush too

My great tit family still haven’t fledged but I saw another group today which seemed to be doing well

Very noisy brood of three Goldfinch chicks at my feeders this morning. They really seem to be a species that is thriving at the moment which is great to see.

Also a very resplendent male Bullfinch popped in which is a real rarity. Despite their prevelance in the neighbourhood they don't normally come to the feeder which is a shame.

We have loads of goldfinch here. They are really prevalent. It’s raining and I need to check on my great tit nest

I have seen and heard lots of goldfinches as well which is great.

We have a pair of herring gulls nesting on the chimney stack of a building over the road from us. I can see a single chick which must have hatched in the last 48 hours. Heavy overnight rain won't have been good for it.
