Superb Blackbird nest photo panad. Great Kite obs RunningMum.
My regular Robins and Dunnocks have "disappeared" too Rosehip and stopped singing.

Eighteen species while running..the best being Reed Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Great Crested Grebe.

My robins and dunnocks have been out this morning. No blue tit but I've heard them.

Baby squirrel has just worked out how to remove the bird feeder from its hook...

I have in the past worked in offices with people who were not nearly as resourceful as your average squirrel or crow.

SWIFTS :)

I’m sat in mum’s garden watching them :)

The park here has one of those swift houses that, I thin, call to them - so it’s a bad year indeed if there aren’t any here

Good to hear Rosehip, do you think the ones you saw may be using the houses?

Remarkably I saw my first chiffchaff of the year tonight and it was our local one. It's been teasing me for weeks with its song, finally ventured out to a telephone wire tonight.

Quite possibly, there were 5 or 6 screaming around, guessing we were sat 300yds in a straight line from where the house sits

By the way, as a habitual insomniac, I can report that the blackbird started the dawn chorus at 3:39 this morning.

Rosehip
about the same time mine did, bonners - Springwatch said that the robin starts the chorus, but it's always the blackbird here.
